Recycling
Contamos con la certificación "Residuo Cero", que acredita que el 99% de los residuos producidos son valorizados, evitando su depósito en vertedero.
Carbon footprint
Desde 2017 calculamos y certificamos nuestra Huella de Carbono. Contamos con el sello "Calculo y Reduzco", de la Oficina Española de Cambio Climático. Además, estamos adheridos al proyecto Lean&Green, con el que hemos obtenido nuestra primera estrella por reducir las emisiones derivadas de nuestra actividad logística terrestre..
Water
In a region where water is a scarce resource, we use it sensitively and purify all our waste water, which then, after treatment, is used for crop irrigation. We also have a savings plan to reduce our water footprint.
Energy
El 100% de la energía eléctrica es suministrada con garantías de origen renovable y fomentamos el uso de la energía limpia con la implantación de proyectos fotovoltaicos para el autoconsumo.

Welfare
Hemos sido la primera empresa cárnica en España en obtener el sello Bienstar Animal en cerdo de capa blanca (INTERPORC-IAWS) y en ibérico (ASICI-IBAW). Desarrollamos un ambicioso proyecto de bienestar animal y bioseguridad en nuestras explotaciones ganaderas. Nuestro modelo de producción se rige, además, bajo los principios de la World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), que garantiza las "Cinco Libertades".

People are the heart and soul of ElPozo Alimentación. To create a good, healthy working environment and foster personal and professional development, we promote many different means of combining family and work life, and social benefits such as a nursery, relaxation room, sports facilities, and health care 24 hours a day.
Social Support
We actively collaborate with the donation of food. En el último año, hemos entregado más de 500.000 kilos de alimentos y agua desde las empresas de alimentación de Grupo Fuertes, contribuyendo, además, a reducir el desperdicio alimentario.
Participamos en la iniciativa 'Hostelería contra el Hambre', que lucha contra la desnutrición infantil, impulsada por Acción contra el Hambre y Hostelería de España. Nuestro apoyo social se materializa también a través de la Fundación de Trabajadores ElPozo Alimentación. Además, nos implicamos con el deporte. Nos hemos unido a Carlos Alcaraz, nuestro embajador de marca, y patrocinamos ElPozo Murcia Fútbol Sala, el equipo Alhama Club de Fútbol ElPozo, el Equipo Paralímpico Español y La Vuelta.

Quality Education
Grupo Fuertes has the Antonio Fuertes Child Education Centre to make it easier to balance work and family life. This centre is designed for our workers’ children, with timetables to suit their working needs, and quality education and training. We also collaborate with the University of Murcia in the development of various programmes. One of these is the Grupo Fuertes Business Excellence Programme which provides grants to students so they can complete their studies at the ElPozo office in Shanghai, China.
Zero hunger
We collaborate actively and habitually with the delivery of food to food banks, organisations, third-sector associations and aid entities. Specifically, we donated over 400,000 kilos of food and water in 2020. We also collaborate with the initiative Restaurants Against Hunger, promoted by the NGO Action Against Hunger, to fight against child malnutrition.
Clean water and sanitation
Care for natural resources is a priority for the company. We have water recovery systems through purification and reuse, have waste water treatment plants for that purpose, promote the improvement of processes and carry out awareness-raising actions. The treated water is channelled to the irrigation of nearby crops.
Good Health and Well-being
Healthy eating and the well-being of consumers is a priority for Grupo Fuertes, pioneers in the creation of high-quality, healthy products. We continually collaborate with various universities and research centres in different studies on healthy food, and develop a myriad of internal programmes to guarantee the health and well-being of our workers. Moreover, ElPozo Alimentación has been the first food company to receive the award of European Sport and Healthy Company.
Affordable and Clean Energy
We work to improve our facilities with the aim of becoming more efficient and consume less. Most of our facilities are already fitted with low-consumption LED technology. 100% of the energy consumed by the Grupo Fuertes companies is of guaranteed renewable origin. In addition, we are working on installing photovoltaic projects at the different companies of the group.
Responsible Consumption and Production
Management of the Grupo Fuertes meat companies is carried out on the Integral Process Control (IPC) circular integration model which guarantees food safety and top product quality, bearing in mind its interest groups. We also carry out a waste management policy based on minimisation and recovery, seeking the most environmentally sustainable and respectful solution at all times.
Decent Work and Economic Growth
To be one of the main motors generating employment is part of the company’s Mission. With our activity, we promote access to work in the most scattered and underpopulated regions, helping to ensure the sustainability of the rural environment. 90% of the jobs created by the Grupo Fuertes agro-food companies are located in areas with less than 20,000 inhabitants.
Climate Action
The Grupo Fuertes companies have specific actions underway to reduce consumption, energy and materials, and to minimise waste, the vast majority of which is recovered.
Reduced Inequalities
The company promotes a labour model based on equality, respect for diversity and equal opportunities. Among the initiatives we develop, the ONCE Foundation InsertaEmpleo project is of note, as are our awareness-raising actions against gender violence gathered under the stamp “Companies Free from Gender Violence”.
