With this initiative, the company advances another step alongside those it has already taken in many fields, in its firm commitment to sustainability and the environment

El Pozo Alimentación, which is part of Grupo Fuertes, has joined the Lean & Green project, a European initiative coordinated in Spain by the Association of Manufacturers and Distributors of Spain (AECOC). The objective of this project is to help companies in the challenge of achieving CO2 neutral emissions in the year 2050, as part of the goals of the Paris Climate Change Conference (COP21).
Lean & Green originated in the Netherlands and is now present in 14 countries with more than 600 companies taking part throughout Europe. It is a leading European community in sustainable logistics.

Through this initiative, El Pozo Alimentación will conduct a study and make action plans to achieve its objective of decarbonisation of its logistics processes, to reduce its emissions by 20 percent in a maximum time limit of five years, which is the first milestone of the Conference.

Aspiring to a quantifiable goal, collaborating with other companies at both a national and a European level while sharing good practices, and being a leading company in sustainability with a transparent and traceable tracking system, are just some of the advantages which this initiative offers the
food company. It demonstrates, moreover, a firm commitment to a supply chain which provides value to its customers, collaborators, and to society.

Part of its CSR

El Pozo Alimentación has joined the Lean & Green project as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and its commitment to caring for nature and ensuring the planet’s well-being, with responsible actions, to be part of change and contribute to better surroundings and a more sustainable future.

Alongside this commitment, the food company already has waste management protocols in place, energy supplies from 100% renewable sources, certifications in sustainable purchases and environmental management, and active collaborations with Food Banks and different NGOs which encourage it to reach its objectives day after day.
