ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN renews its commitment to the organisation Action against Hunger


ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN has renewed its commitment to the NGO Action Against Hunger and joins for the second year running the ‘Restaurants against Hunger ’ campaign, promoted in collaboration with the Spanish National Hostelry Federation and which has as its aim to fight child malnutrition.

It is the greatest solidarity initiative from the Spanish catering industry, and will take place from 15th September to 15th November and this year it has an amazing ambassador, the chef Quique Dacosta.

During the time that the campaign lasts, restaurants which have joined the campaign choose the dish or dishes from their menus that will be part of the solidarity campaign. This means that each time a person orders that dish (es) the restaurant will donate part of its price to Action against Hunger. Furthermore, customers will be able to make additional donations in the collection boxes found in the restaurants, or by sending a text message.

ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN is particularly involved in this project’s promotion and diffusion and encourages its main customers, consumers and workers to contribute to the success of this solidarity initiative.

Besides ELPOZO, the project, which is now in its eighth year, is supported by Makro and has the collaboration of 11870, Guía del Ocio, Barcelona Town Council, El Periódico, Comer en Valencia and the logistics solidarity foundation Seur.

Action against Hunger is an international humanitarian organisation which fights against the causes and effects of hunger. They save malnourished children’s lives. They guarantee access to water, food, training and basic health care. They work to free children, women and men from the threat of hunger.
