It has signed the biggest agreement on job security in the company’s history
ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN will permanently contract 700 workers over the next four years. This is what it has agreed with the company’s Work Council via a large scale employment plan guaranteeing the future of many jobs.
The said plan covers the period from 2018 to 2021, and also includes an increase in work category in different areas of the company’s production for a number of employees who meet the necessary requirements.
Furthermore, it has agreed improvements in such important areas like taxes, licences and workplace health and safety.
This agreement, fruit of a long negotiation between the company’s management and the workers’ representatives, has led to all the mentioned improvements.
Nowadays, 4,715 people work in the company directly and its business activity generates 23,000 indirect jobs. The workforce has increased by 9.15 per cent compared to the same date the year before.
ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN has just been declared European Sport and Healthy Company 2018 for its promotion of health and sport among its workers by ACES Europe and the International Organisation of Human Capital Directives.
It is the first European food company to receive this distinction thanks to its
5,000 m2 of sporting space which is for the exclusive use of its staff with a wide range of activities including gymnasium, padel and tennis courts, a covered pavilion designed for indoor football and other sports such as table tennis. The company has invested 170,000 euros in these facilities over the last two years.
ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN is completely committed to the management of competences which values merit and an internal communication policy which keeps the organisation united and committed to the project. Workers have important social services available to them, such as school grants and a nursery for the exclusive use of the employees’ children, a fitness centre, a sports centre, padel and tennis courts, as well as a bank branch and shop.
In addition, ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN has two doctor’s surgeries, with 24 hour healthcare, as well as a cardiology emergency unit. Free annual check-ups in different medical specialities are available to employees as well as a clinical psychology service, free for any worker who should need it.
The company brought last year to a close with a turnover of 1,041 million euros, an increase of 8 per cent compared to the year before. Investments made exceeded 45 million aimed at improving business efficiency and competiveness. Its revenue from sales in the foreign market also increased by 30 per cent.
