ELPOZO Alimentación has held the annual meeting of the XXXIII edition of the Improvement Groups, an internal initiative which aims to improve the quality of the most important processes in the production chain, through specific measures proposed by the workers.

A total of 328 employees (more than eight per cent of the workforce) have participated, who have come up with 197 activities related to all areas of the company, including environment, maintenance, health and safety, meat processing, logistics, meat cutting or food safety.

These groups act as multidisciplinary teams of excellence made up of workers committed and trained in problem resolution techniques and in the use of quality tools. Their objective is to detect improvement opportunities and propose actions which enable the company to be more efficient, reduce costs and better satisfy customers’ needs and expectations.

In this edition there were a total of 34 groups which have presented specific measures, with a high level of implementation and which mean the start-up of energy saving plans, optimisation of production processes, material and equipment or different organisational and environmental improvements.

During the presentation of the results, the president and the managing director of ELPOZO Alimentación, Tomás Fuertes and José Fuertes, respectively, thanked all the workers for their effort and commitment and valued this organism of participation as an essential tool to consolidate the company’s leadership.

The Improvement Groups, which the company has been supporting for more than three decades, are a clear example of ELPOZO Alimentación’s business philosophy, aimed at motivating and adding value to workers’ initiatives to increase company efficiency.
