The firm is one of the nine most responsible companies in terms of SDGs that have entered the Merco ranking this year
Part of the Grupo Fuertes holding, El Pozo Alimentación is among the 100 most responsible companies in the country in terms of SDGs (environment, society and corporate governance) for 2023, according to the Merco ranking. The food company is in 68th position, and is one of the nine firms that have entered the ranking produced by the benchmark monitoring organisation for the first time this year. By sector, El Pozo Alimentación is one of the ten most responsible food companies (position 7).
The Merco study was based on a detailed analysis of 53,587 surveys aimed at different stakeholder groups. In total, 1,53 executives, 77 CSR experts, 89 financial analysts, 89 business and society journalists, 88 members of the government, 106 NGO managers, 85 trade union leaders, 79 consumer associations, 89 social media managers, 400 SME managers and 8,001 members of the public took part in Merco Responsabilidad ESG.
The Merco report analyses the different variables on the information relating to companies’ commitment in terms of environmental, social and corporate governance, and management. In its most recent sustainability report, El Pozo Alimentación includes matters relating to its services, the company’s environmental policies, the professional development provided for its employees, and the initiatives and collaborations carried out in partnership with the local communities in which it participates.
