The company celebrates the 38th edition of its Improvement Groups, an internal initiative in which 277 employees have participated

El Pozo Alimentación rewards the talent of the employees who propose the best efficiency ideas to be applied in the processes. The ‘Improvement Groups’ initiative has been working for 38 years to internally identify new, more efficient and environmentally friendly operating methodologies in the production chain.

A total of 277 participants presented 190 projects in this edition, focused on developing more sustainable processes, improvements in industrial equipment, logistical optimisation, innovation optimisation, and optimisation on reduction of environmental impact or food waste.

Among the proposals presented, energy efficiency improvements to increase the plant’s performance, minimise natural gas consumption and reduce CO2 emissions stand out. With the implementation of these measures, the emission of 3,500 tonnes of CO2 per year has been avoided, equivalent to that produced by 1,500 vehicles in a year.

The improvements proposed each year by the employees lead El Pozo Alimentación to continue with these work methodologies due to the good results obtained and because they favour efficiency, sustainability, respect for the environment and also the teamwork of the workers, who feel they are an active part of the process.
